Terms and Conditions
The following are the terms and conditions between the student, parents, and BSMA:
Payments
-
• Tuition: $25 per half hour, $37.50 per 45 minutes, $50 per hour
-
• Tuition does not include materials such as books or instruments but they are offered at a discount
-
• There is a sibling discount
-
• Payments are to be paid at the beginning of the month or at the start of every lesson based on the agreed upon schedule
-
• We accept payments in the form of cash, major credit cards, or check
-
• Financial considerations can be discussed
-
• Financial scholarships are available for those unable to pay full tuition rates
Lessons
-
• You are scheduled for a specific time each week. This is your assigned time slot. Your payments and attendance hold that slot for you. If you do not pay or come for your lesson, your slot will be given to another student.
-
• You must call at least two hours before the start of your scheduled lesson if you are going to miss a lesson. If you call before your scheduled time, you will be given two slots from which to choose a makeup slot. Should you not attend either, you will still be required to pay.
-
• Exceptions will be made for real emergencies.
Observation of Lessons
-
• You are more than welcome to observe your child’s lesson, but please do not distract your child. Children, especially younger ones, have difficulty concentrating, and we would appreciate if you would do your best not to break their concentration.
Conduct
-
• Students will not be permitted to use their cell phones during their lesson. It is an unnecessary distraction.
-
• No rough-housing or other inappropriate behavior will be allowed.
-
• Proper respect is expected at all times.
Closings
-
• We do NOT follow the MCPS or any other school schedule. We will still have lessons even if schools are closed. However, we will try to schedule lessons earlier in the day during spring and winter breaks if acceptable to the students.
-
• If the weather is very bad, such that it is unsafe to drive, we will reschedule your lesson for another time.
-
• If there is an emergency and your teacher is unable to attend the lesson, you will receive a call as soon as possible and your lesson will be rescheduled
